The SSL testing system
Most golfers know they want more speed. Far fewer know which physical quality deserves their time. SSL replaces that guesswork with a clear, individual priority based on connected testing.
Build your profile
We combine your goals, golfing journey and training history with selected speed, movement, strength and power tests.
Find what matters next
The results are interpreted together to identify the highest-value physical quality for you to work on — not a generic list of weaknesses.
Available through membership
If you join an ongoing membership, your assessment priority becomes a personalised programme supported by check-ins, focused retesting and regular updates.
What we assess
A result only matters if it changes the decision. We look across four connected areas to understand where your best opportunity may sit.
Create a repeatable clubhead-speed baseline and understand your current output.
Assess the golf-relevant movement options that may influence how you swing and train.
Test the strength qualities that may deserve a place in your speed-development plan.
Measure your ability to express force quickly and connect it to practical training decisions.
Your starting point
A structured deep dive into your current physical profile. It gives you a reliable baseline, connects the findings and identifies your most useful next priority.
What the assessment includes
Your goals, golfing journey, injury history, training experience and available time.
Baseline swing speed plus relevant movement, strength and power testing.
Results interpreted together — not isolated scores or generic benchmarks.
A clear debrief on what deserves attention and whether ongoing coaching is the right next step.
The £220 fee does not include a personalised programme, ongoing check-ins, programme updates or structured retesting. Those begin only if you join an SSL membership.
Ongoing coaching
Membership begins after your full SSL assessment. Places are deliberately limited so every member receives individual data review, programme design, check-ins and meaningful updates.
Structured independent training
For golfers who can complete their training independently but want a precise plan, accountability and objective progress checks.
Initial £220 assessment required · Subject to coaching capacity
DM “CORE”Closer coaching support
For golfers who want more direct coaching contact and faster feedback while following the same data-led SSL process.
Initial £220 assessment required · Subject to coaching capacity
DM “PERFORMANCE”A focused progress retest repeats the measures most relevant to your current priority. It is not another full assessment. That keeps the process useful, repeatable and sustainable every month.
Higher-support options are in development. SSL is starting with two memberships so the delivery stays precise, personal and sustainable.
Clear by design
SSL develops the golfer’s physical capacity rather than providing traditional technical swing coaching. When a golf coach, physiotherapist or another specialist is the right answer, we will say so.
TCGC launch day
Meet Josh at The City Golf Club, Woolwich, from 9am–6pm. Experience selected parts of the testing process, understand how the data is used and discuss the full assessment or a capacity-limited ongoing membership.

No. Your assessment gives SSL the data and context needed to build an individual programme rather than guessing what you should train.
No. It is a focused repeat of the measures linked to your current priority, used to judge progress and inform the next programme update.
Every member requires individual data review, programme design and ongoing feedback. New places open only when there is capacity to deliver that properly.
No. SSL focuses on physical performance. Technical swing changes are the domain of a suitable golf coach.
Tell us before testing. A test can be modified or stopped, and you will be referred to an appropriate professional where needed.
